Defying attempts to disrupt the program, the Communist Party of India (Marxist) successfully held a mass rally today at Natun Nagar Bazar on Airport Road, where thousands of supporters gathered under the red flag. The rally was marked by the presence of senior Left leaders including Jitendra (Jiten) Choudhury, Ratan Das, and Amal Chakraborty.

According to CPM, the alleged attack by BJP-backed miscreants ahead of the rally was intended to foil the meeting. However, large numbers of people turned out, which the party described as a reflection of public resistance against the ruling establishment’s intimidation and violence.

Addressing the gathering, CPM state secretary Jiten Choudhury said, the nation is rising against the BJP. In Tripura too, the reign of terror is nearing its end. It is now time to stand up and fight back. Despite today’s attack, the courage and presence of comrades here is remarkable. I thank everyone who braved the threats to attend this rally. Jiten Chowdhury said.

Ratan Das, in his speech, asserted that no amount of intimidation could suppress the red flag. Threats, riots, and violence will not silence the Left. We know how to fight with courage and determination,he said.

Amal Chakraborty termed the attack an outcome of the BJP’s fear of losing power. Today’s attempt to disrupt the meeting shows their desperation. But such attacks will not succeed. The people are preparing for the 28th, and the Left cannot be wiped out by violence. The more the attacks, the longer will be the Left’s rallies, Chakraborty declared.

Despite the tense atmosphere, the rally concluded with spirited participation, reinforcing the Left’s claim of a growing wave of resistance against the ruling party in Tripura.
