Outstanding kidney surgery by specialist Urologists of GBP hospital , patient goes back home safely

The GBP hospital has added another feather in its already swollen cap on the back of an eminently successful and complicated operation of the kidney of a sixty year old woman from Kalyanpur. The ailing left kidney of the woman was removed and she is now back home , safe and sound.

According to a press release issued late by the department of ICA, a sixty year old lady named Parul Bala Paul from Bairagi tilla area under Kalyanpur police station had been admitted to female medicine ward of the hospital on July 20. She had been suffering from chest pain, high fever and diabetes, low hemoglobin in blood and pain in kidney . After having tests conducted on her the doctors found a cluster of stones in her left kidney and at once referred her to the Urology section.

The team of Urologists in the hospital comprising Dr Bijit Lodh, Dr Mukut Debnath and Dr Jibon Debnath got tests conducted on the lady’s kidney and found the left kidney overflowing with puss which they pumped out in a major surgical intervention on July 23. This was followed by application of medicine of many kinds to normalize the condition of the patient for another major surgery through various methods. Finally on August 14 the team of Urological surgeons Dr Mukut Debnath, Dr Bijit Lodh and Dr Jibon Debnath conducted another surgery on the lady patient and removed her toxic left kidney. It took four hours to perform the complicated surgery and the patient was treated intensively for eleven more days with all kinds of medicines . She was released from hospital in healthy condition on August 25 and is now safe and sound at home.

The press release said that the entire treatment was free of cost in GBP hospital as the lady was covered by the ‘Ayushman’ health card . In private hospitals and nursing homes such an operation would have cost at least Rs 5 lakhs, the release added.
