After Asharambari, Jampuijala remained tense for the second consecutive day on Friday following escalating clashes between alliance partners BJP and Tipra Motha. The situation deteriorated after a bomb was reportedly hurled at the house of a Tipra Motha supporter in Ghaniamara, under Takarjala police station, late Thursday night. The local MLA directly accused the senior ally, BJP, of being behind the attack.

Amid the political showdown, the livelihoods of small traders and common people in Jampuijala Bazaar have taken a major hit. Despite widespread damage, the administration has remained largely indifferent, drawing strong resentment from locals. Traders have even warned of boycotting the market if adequate protection is not ensured.

On Thursday, a BJP rally was underway in Jampuijala Bazaar when supporters of the junior ally, Tipra Motha, allegedly launched a sudden attack using rods, sticks, and machetes. At least seven BJP workers and supporters were injured and are currently undergoing treatment. The assault prompted large-scale deployment of police and security forces across the subdivision. By Thursday night, the entire region had descended into grim silence, resembling a deserted zone.

During the attack, small vendors, fearing for their lives, fled, leaving behind their makeshift shops. Several stalls were vandalized, with losses amounting to several lakhs of rupees. On Friday, a delegation of affected traders met with the Officer-in-Charge of Jampuijala Police Station and demanded an explanation on how such a violent incident could occur despite heavy police presence. Many expressed despair, stating they had been completely ruined and were in urgent need of support.

Later that night, BJP supporters allegedly launched a retaliatory bomb attack on the residence of Budhiram Debbarma in Ghaniamara village under Takarjala Police Station. Upon receiving the information, Tipra Motha leaders visited the site and demanded the immediate arrest of the attackers, whom they claimed were affiliated with the BJP.
