Killer of Bangladeshi Hindu blogger Farabi Shafiur Rahaman released on bail by BD court

In a repulsive demonstration of indulgence towards fundamentalist Muslim killers of Hindus , a caged Bangladeshi court has released on bail today Shafiur Rahaman , one of the prime accused in the murder of liberal Hindu blogger Avijit Roy on February 26 2015 . It was on this fateful evening that Avijit Roy, son of professor Ajay Roy of Dhaka university and a highly qualified engineer settled in Atlanta , USA with his wife Bonya Ahmed, had been returning by a rickshaw from the Dhaka book fair. They had been waylaid on the road by a gang of killers of notorious Ansarulla Bangla Team who hacked Avijit to death on the road and inflicted serious injuries on his wife.

In the course of investigation, carried out jointly by the Bangladesh CID and US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) officers, at least eight people were found guilty and put on trial . At least three of them were sentenced to death while the rest including Farabi Shafiur Rahaman was sentenced to life imprisonment. Taking advantage of the permissive and indulgent attitude of the illegitimate Yunus led government the notorious Farabi who had tracked Avijit and his wife’s movement before killing had appealed for bail . The caged judiciary of Bangladesh playing second fiddle to the fundamentalist propped government granted the bail without even a valid reason by giving credence to Farabi’s false pleas of sickness. This has provoked a reaction among the minuscule number of liberal and progressive elements in Bangladesh but that means nothing to Yunus’s illegitimate regime.
