The EGROW Foundation is organizing a special webinar titled “Economy of Tripura” today, Friday, August 1, at 4:00 PM IST, bringing together key experts and policymakers to discuss the current economic landscape of Tripura and its future development strategy.

Panel of Distinguished Speakers are - Indraneel Bhowmik, Professor of Economics, Tripura University, Kiran Gitte, Secretary, Government of Tripura & CEO, Tripura Institution for Transformation, Tridib Bhattacharjee, Founder & Chief Advisor, Astramind Consulting and Tamali Chakraborty, Assistant Professor, Economics & Social Sciences, IIM Visakhapatnam.

Webinar Focus:

Tripura’s economy is largely service-driven, supported by agriculture and industry. In FY 2022–23, the state recorded a GSDP of US$7.6 billion at constant prices, a 10.38% increase over the previous year. The projected GSDP for 2025–26 at current prices is Rs.1,00,795 crore, marking a 10% growth from 2024–25 (RE).

Despite growth, Tripura faces structural challenges like geographical isolation, infrastructure limitations, poverty, and unemployment. The webinar will explore how policy interventions and investments in infrastructure, agriculture, and social sectors are shaping an inclusive and sustainable growth trajectory for the state.
