Contrary to recent reports published in Tripurainfo.com claiming that Indian Forest Service (IFS) officers in Tripura failed to submit their Performance Appraisal Reports (PARs) despite multiple deadline extensions, official sources in the state forest department have clarified that almost all IFS officers have submitted their mandatory PARs for the 2024–25 cycle well within time.

According to the sources, as per guidelines issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), all 31 IFS officers currently serving in Tripura had submitted their self-appraisals as required. The officials further explained that the multiple deadline extension notices circulated by DoPT are part of an annual, all-India administrative routine and not indicative of any specific delays or non-compliance in the state.

A memorandum (No.11059/04/2025-AIS-III), dated 30th June 2025 and addressed to the Chief Secretary of Tripura, had mentioned that a “considerable number” of All India Service (AIS) officers across the country had not submitted their self-appraisals within the original deadline. As a result, a 15-day extension was granted. However, forest department sources emphasized that the memorandum was a general nationwide circular and not a reflection of the status in Tripura.

They also clarified that most IAS, IFS, and IPS officers in Tripura had completed their PAR submissions in due course without needing to rely on the extended deadlines.
