Tripura CM Lays Foundation for Rs 97.70 Cr "51 Shakti Peeth Replica Park" at Udaipur’s Bondowar

In a significant initiative to promote spiritual and cultural tourism in Tripura, Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha today formally laid the foundation stone for an ambitious project at Bondowar in Udaipur under the state’s tourism department. The project involves the construction of a grand replica park featuring all 51 Shakti Peethas, with an estimated investment of Rs. 97.70 crore.

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, Matabari MLA Abhishek Debroy, Bagbassa MLA Rampada Jamatia, Kakraban-Shalgara MLA Jitendra Majumdar, and several dignitaries, including top officials and representatives of the Tourism Department and Tourism Minister.

Speaking at the event, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha expressed pride in initiating a landmark venture in Tripura's spiritual tourism landscape. "From today, Bondowar adds a glorious new chapter to Udaipur’s spiritual and cultural significance," he said. Highlighting mythological references, he stated that the 51 Shakti Peethas represent the sacred sites across the Indian subcontinent where parts of Goddess Sati’s body fell, according to legend.

The CM emphasized that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Tripura is gaining a prominent spot on the global tourism map. He added that the proposed '51 Shakti Peeth Park' near the revered Tripurasundari Temple in the Matabari constituency would become a symbol of devotion and tourism excellence.

Notably, the upcoming complex will include:

Replicas of all 51 Shakti Peethas, Tripura’s first-ever glass skywalk bridge, the largest statue of Lord Nataraja in the state and a 400-seat amphitheatre and other Tourism related facilities.
