MLA Ramapada Jamatia Calls for Reconstruction of Shiva Temple at Betlingchhip

Former Minister and MLA Ramapada Jamatia pressed the Tripura Government to rebuild the Shiva temple atop Betlingchhip, Jampui Hills’ highest peak. Jamatia noted that the temple, founded by Jamatia Hoda, was vandalized by unknown individuals on June 08.

“This site holds deep spiritual value for Hindus. A trident, a sacred symbol of Lord Shiva, was placed there, drawing devotees statewide for worship. Recognizing its importance, Jamatia Hoda built the temple,” Jamatia stated.

He highlighted that Hindu communities have revered Lord Shiva at this temple for decades.

“As an MLA and member of the Tripura Legislative Assembly’s ST Committee, I strongly request the Chief Minister to reconstruct the temple and develop the site into a revered Shiva shrine,” Jamatia urged.

The ST Committee recently visited Betlingchhip to assess the situation firsthand.
