Sudden meeting of former extremists at Baijal Barti raised many eyebrews

A recent meeting of former extremists belonging to two now disbanded organisatiions NLFT and ATTF raised many eyebrews and the authorities are suspecting that an organised attempt is going on to create disturbances in the hills. The security forces are trying to detect the motive behind the move.

The meeting held at the Baijal Bari School ground in Khowai on Sunday last and over five hundred people turned up. They were raisning slogan about non-implementation of Tiprasa accord and not fulfilling the assurances given during their surrender.

The convenor of the meeting was one Prasenjit Debbarm, a little known former member of the NLFT. The intillegence agencies are surprised about how such a large number of people turned up in the cal of a little knoen leader and trying to find out if any other major brain is working behind him.

Interestingly, before the meeting the organisers campaigned that the TIPRA Motha founder Pradyot Bikram Kishor Debbarman will attend the meeting but during the meeting nobody uttered any word about it.
