AMC south zone rid of corrupt female employee, two more still remain

Reacting to flurry of reports on her gross corrupt practices the AMC authority has transferred with ‘immediate effect’ the corrupt upper division clerk of south zone , Jaya Majumder who has already joined the central zone office in City Centre. Sources from AMC said that Jaya Majumder who had been indulging in unbridle corruption as an MPS (UD) flaunting her close connection with the MLA of Teliamura Kalyani Roy Saha had received her transfer order on June 6 , signed by the new AMC commissioner D.K.Chakma and exited the office through backdoor.

Sources however said that two other employees Suman Acharjee , a casual and task force driver Prashanta Saha indulging in massive corruption and bribe taking. Suman Acharjee, a resident of Bankumari area near Jogendra Nagar , had joined AMC as a casual employee after BJP had captured the corporation in December 2021. Despite being a former CPI (M) worker he now flaunts his ostensible connection with the RSS and cares nobody as employee posted in the general section.

The case of driver Prashanta Saha of task force is different as he gets a first view of the deviations and diversions in construction work along with other officers and then contacts the persons found guilty and extorts money from them . He claims that he has to gratify senior officers, specially his executive engineer Chinmay Chakraborty posted in the engineering (mechanical) wing of AMC in Durga Chaumuhuni. Despite concrete evidence and a long series of allegations no action has been taken against him so far by the higher AMC authority.
