Hut bar in Kashba border hut to remain unchanged

Agartala, Mar 19, 2017 : The Hut bar of the Kasba border Hut will remain unchanged and Sunday will continue as weekly hut bar. This was decided in a meeting of the joint managing committee of the border hut comprising representatives of both India and Bangladesh on March 18.
As per the previous schedule the weekly hut bar was suppose to be rescheduled on Tuesday from April 1. The managing committee decided to defer it for three months following request from Bangladeshi Representatives.
Manik Lal Das, additional district magistrate of Sipahijala district headed the Indian side in the meeting while Bangladeshi side was headed by additional district magistrate of Brammanbaria district.
During the meeting it was observed that the border guards of both the sides, the BSF and BGB, often entre into the hut causing uneasy for the buyers and sellers. The meeting decided that, henceforth, border guards of both the sides will be instructed not to enter into the market area with weapons.
