Agartala, Jan 11, 2017 : <br />Angry students of Tripura Institute of Technology (TIT) on Wednesday put the institution’s main entrance under lock protesting ‘unnecessary’ delay in conducting examinations.
However, the students, later in the evening, withdrew their agitational programme following assurance of doing needful on the issue.
Of the total students, around 800 students of TIT have been facing uncertainty after Tripura University (TU) abruptly rolled back the examinations scheduled to begin from December 20, last year.
More importantly, final year’s students who are intending to go for higher study or GATE examinations look in trouble due to suspension of examinations.
Since the Varsity could not declare the new examination schedule yet, hundreds of TIT students gathered in the campus and put the main entrance under lock.
Alarmed at the development, TIT authority came to the scene and talked to the angry students. After discussion, the students submitted their grievances before TIT authority.
Following assurance of doing needful by the authority, the angry students withdrew their agitation around 4.30 pm.
The scheduled examinations were rolled back by the Varsity authority as it could not prepare question papers for over 800 students.
