Offsite mock drill conducted at ONGC installation

Agartala, Jan 11, 2017 : An Offsite Mock Drill was successfully conducted for the first time at the ADB Gas Collecting Station of ONGC on January 11, 2017 in association with TSR 6th battalion, Local Police, Bomb Disposal Squad, State Fire Services, Medical team, NDRF, BSF, ONGC Fire Services and Medical Team.
The scenario of the drill was forceful entry of terrorists and hostage situation at ONGC Installation. The drill began at 1500 hrs and was conducted as per the standard guidelines of Disaster Management Plan. The drill was successfully carried out with seamless coordination among all the concerned agencies. TSR Commandos started the operation to neutralise the terrorists and their capture. The Bomb Disposal Squad carried out search and recovery of unexploded bombs. This was followed by the NDRF team rescuing the casualties and persons trapped on the roof of the building.
The mock drill not only tested the preparedness and alertness of all the concerned state and central agencies but also helped ONGC to check its back up plan in case of such a scenario. A total of 130 persons participated in the drill.
Sankar Debnath, TPS, Principal, Police Training Academy was the Incident Commander and led from the front in the successful completion of the mock drill. The mock drill was attended by Sougata Sen, Officiating Asset Manager ONGC Tripura, Timir Das, TPS, Commanding Officer 6th Battalion TSR, GVSS Rao Asset Support Manager ONGC Tripura, Prabal Kr. Deb, DC, Jampuijala, Pradip Kumar, In – Charge HSE ONGC Tripura, SDPO Jampuijala, D S Tomar, In – Charge Security ONGC Tripura, ASI Shrinagar police station.
Speaking on this occasion Sougata Sen, Officiating Asset Manager ONGC Tripura thanked the police officials and civil administration from Government of Tripura, teams from BSF and NDRF for their effective support and measures taken for the successful drill.
