Agartala, Jan 10, 2017 : After MGNREGA, the Central government looks set to introduce realtime monitoring system (MIS Portal) in different schemes of Agriculture.
Currently, the Centre is pumping fund to the state government under ten schemes- Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana (PMKSY), Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH), Agri Clinics and Agri Business Centers (ACABC), Sub Mission on Agriculture Mechanization, Support to States for Extension Reforms (ATMA), Sub Mission on Seeds and Planting Material, Interest Subsidy for Short Term Credit to Farmers, Crop Insurance Scheme, National Food Security Mission (NFSM) and Integrated Scheme on Agriculture Cooperation.
On an average, the state is receiving Rs. 1200 crore apart from budgetary support from the Centre. In a letter to the state government, Dinesh Kumar, the Joint Secretary (IT), Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare asked the state government to go for online status report of all ten schemes by March 31, 2017.
In the letter, Kumar said the state could upload details of the beneficiary and status of assistance/ implementation on the Central MIS Portal- www.dbtbharat.gov.in.
Or else, the state government would float its own platform to upload the detail status of these schemes.
Agriculture department, seems a bit scare over the central government’s recent decision because it has no expertise in this field. However, the department will obey the order but it will take time to go for realtime monitoring system.
