Tea plucking time extended for seven days

Agartala, December 6 2018: Tea Board of India has extended the time for plucking of tea leaves for one week for the Tea gardens of Tripura and Cachar district of Assam. The Tea plucking season was supposed to be ended by December 10 and after the new instruction it will be extended up to December 17.

Earlier the tea gardens of the state and the Tripura Tea Development Corporation had requested the Tea Board of India to extend the plucking time. Santosh Saha, Chairman of the Tea Development Corporation said while extending the time the Tea Board of India clearly said if any garden continues to pluck tea after this stipulated time the tea board will withdraw all its facilities to the garden.

The instruction also said that all the gardens must complete processing of tea by December of 19. Earlier it was fixed up to December 12.
