Stop Modi’s return to Parliament, Yechury appeals voters

Agartala, April 13, 2019 :  CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury has predicted there would be an alternative government in Delhi after the 17 Lok Sabha elections and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be sent back to his home state- Gujarat.

Parliamentary election is not an ordinary one because if India will remain secular country or not will be decided in the ongoing battle of ballots, he said while addressing an election rally at Kailashahar on Friday.

"In the past five years, the country witnesses intolerance in all the fields- agriculture, culture and more importantly security fabric of Indian constitution", he said.

Dubbing Modiji as an ally to corporate world, the CPM leader reminded Prime Minister Narendra Modi's promise of creating two crore jobs in each year. "Where has the employment? Those who were employed in different sectors have lost their job in the Modi’ regime. Condition of middle class and middle class has been worsened", h e said.

Lashing out at Modi, Yechury said Lalit Modi, Nirov Modi and Vijay Mallya were given safe passage with thousands of crores. "Everybody knows why Narendra Modi is active bring back fugitives. People will give a massive mandate against the Prime Minister", he said.  

In his speech, Yechury also called upon the people to vote for Left Front candidate Jitendra Chowdhury to stop Narendra Modi's return to Delhi once again. Left Front  convener Bijan Dhar,MLAs Tapan Chakraborty and Mabashar Ali also addressed the rally.
