State Planning Board holds preparatory meeting

Agartala, May 19, 2019 : Before having a full-fledged meeting, Vice Chairman of State Planning Board RK Mathur has held a preparatory meeting with eight non-political members to know their suggestions.

The first ever meeting took place at the conference hall of the Civil Secretariat here on Saturday. Chief Minister Biplab Kumar, who the Chairman of the Board and other Ministers could not make it since the model code of conduct is still enforced in the state.

In the meeting, an elaborate discussion took place on how to make Tripura a model state, a slogan raised by the Chief Minister. In the course of the deliberation, they have given focus on some key areas- agriculture, industries, horticulture, tourism, IT and education.

It is expected that the Chief Minister would hold a full-fledged meeting of State Planning Board after the Lok Sabha election process. And, Saturday’s meeting was aimed at preparing a roadmap for the state on its way to inclusive development.
