Seized Ganja smuggled from Malkhana of Sonamura police station

Agartala, May 18, 2019 : Huge quantity of Ganja seized during last few months by police reportedly smuggled from the Malkhana of the Sonamura Police station where these seized goods were stored. Police sources said the market price of the smuggled ganja will be around Rs 10 lakh.

How the incident was detected is not yet clear but the police on its own registered a cases against one cleaner on suspicion that he might have smuggled the goods. Kulwant Singh, Superintendent of Police, Sipahijala district, admitted the fact and said the matter is being investigated.

Allegation of smuggling of seized narcotics items from the malkhana of Sonamura Police station is nothing new and earlier several police personnel including an officer-in-charge also were suspended over similar allegation and investigation is still going on.
