By Our Correspondent

Agartala  October 10 2019 : During the past one and half year since March 2018, Tripura has emeged as a happy hunting ground for sundry fixers, shady companys and NGOs who appear in varied and colourful garbs to fleece money at the cost of equally eligible local entrepreneurs, industrial units and NGOs. Nothing illustrates the point better than a circular issued by the director of secondary education on September 23 on behalf of a Pune based NGO to indirectly promote its proposed services (?).

According to the contents of the circular forwarded to all higher secondary schools, a Pune based 'Dakshana India Education Foundation Trust' has offered scholarship-based help to under-privileged students of state government run schools in class XII to prepare for NEET and JEE examinations. This scholarship ostensibly includes free tuition accommodation (?), food and books for a year at the 'Dakshana' campus close to Rajgurunagar in Pune (?). The scholars ostensibly will be hosted at the campus and study materials and courses are prepared by professional faculties in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology to enable the students to appear at JEE and NEET.

Besides, the joint Dakshana Selection Test to select students for free coaching will be conducted by Dakshana authority at centres to be notified on December 08. According to the circular Dakshana will provide test materials like question paper, OMR sheets etc for the JDST 2020 and the evaluation of answer scripts will be done and results declared by Dakshana through its website (

The students who are in class XII in 2019, having scored 70% marks in Board examination and whose annual income is not more than Rs 1,80,000 will be eligible for taking the test . By the circular the directorate of secondary education has directed all heads of institutions to apprise the students of the benefits to be derived by them from Dakshana scholarship scheme and free coaching programme . The heads of institutions have also been asked to collect data of top ten students of each school and upload them in Dakshana website as well as to send the list of students who have applied for JDST-2020 in excel file to director se 09 The last date for filling up the form online was 30th September.
