Agartala, May 15: Former Chief Minister and opposition leader Manik Sarkar appealed to youth fronts of CPI (M) to participate in more voluntary blood units and body organ donation programmes and encourages people for more donations.

Speaking in a voluntary blood donation programme on Wednesday, organized by DYFI's Dukli divisional committee in Hapania, at the outskirts of Agartala, where altogether 153 blood units donated by the youth front workers of opposition CPI (M), Sarkar requested youth front activists to contribute their best for the society irrespective political sentiments.

At present ruling classes are trying to divide the country in the name religion and caste, and for that Prime Minister is now globally criticized for his divide rule, said Sarkar. He asked his party's youth front activists to raise their voices against divide and rule policies. They should continue their fights for the welfare of downtrodden people of the society.

Castigating the ruling party for their alleged malpractices during Lok Sahha elections in West Tripura parliamentary constituency, Sarkar claimed that conducting re-polls in 168 polling booths, is a shame for entire state. Tripura never before saw re-polls in large number of booths, even country never ever saw such steps by Election Commission, which established the large-scale rigging by ruling party, said Sarkar.

He added that Left Front's writ petition in Supreme Court has been again filed in the High Court of Tripura after suggestion of apex court.  "If EC declares fresh polls, we will continue our political fight and if they not announce fresh polls, then we will continue our fights for fresh polls through legal battle", said Sarkar.

Criticizing the Modi government, Sarkar claimed that the conditions of the farmer are in very critical stage and unemployment rate is now at its peak due to anti-people policies of the central government.

He also appealed to youth's front of his party to continue their social activities despite resistance from ruling classes and motivate more youths to participate in voluntary blood donation and body organ donation programmes.

The DYFI's Dukli divisional committee has donated a record number of blood units on Wednesday's programme, which probably has collected highest number of blood units after formation of BJP-IPFT government since March 3rd , 2019.
