Lord Buddha's message still relevant, can ensure peace in the world, Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki

Agartala May 19, 2019: The holy message of love, non-violence, peace and universal brotherhood propagated by Lord Buddha is more relevant than ever to the current violence-ridden world. 'If we follow and act upon these principles conveyed by the Lord Buddha, the world can live peacefully' said Professor Kaptan Singh Solanki, the governor of Tripura. He made the comments while inaugurating the 'Buddha Purnima' festivities yesterday in the 'Buddha Mandir'.

The governor said that great emperor Ashok of India (268-233 BC) had been influenced by the message of Lord Buddha and had spread the noble message in India, Sri Lanka and Nepal and later the message of Lord Buddha had spread to Korea, Japan and China. The kings of Tripura were also influenced by the message of Lord Buddha and built the 'Venuban Vihar' said Professor Kaptan Singh Solanki . He expressed joy over his participation in the celebration of 'Buddha Purnima'.

The programme at 'Venuban Vihar' was also attended and addressed by Hitakamananda Maharaj, Jenobraj Lama and principal of Venuban Vihar Akshayananda Vikshu.
