Governor pays homage to Kashmir martyrs, highlights state's potential and government's success

Agartala February 22,2019 : The governor Mr Kaptan Singh Solanki today paid his homage to the slain CRPF and army janwans and officers massacred by Pak-sponsored terrorists in Kashmir. He urged the members of the house to join him in paying homage to the martyred jawans and officers. The governor was statutorily addressing the state assembly on the opening day of the year's first session of the state assembly. He appreciated the initiative taken by the BJP-IPFT government in ridding the state of the menace of drugs and called for the continuance of the policy of 'Sab ka Saath, Sab ka Vikash', enunciated and pursued by the prime minister Narendra Modi in centre. 

Solanki also referred to the devastating flood last year in parts of Tripura and appreciated the efforts made by the state government in providing relief to the people. He also said that the state government was trying hard to neutralize the drug menace and the drug hauls including 'Ganza' being seized by police across the state. He also appreciated the state government's initiative in maintaining law and order and the power connectivity given to 1,36,320 households at a cost of Rs 800 crores.

He also highlighted the beneficial effects of direct purchase of rice by FCI from farmers with minimum support price announced by the prime minister and the judicious and balanced use of fertilizer. Apart from this , the renovation of 'Mata Bari' temple and promotion of religious tourism was also focused on by the governor in his speech. Solanki highlighted the positive aspects of the functioning of the government and the major positive initiatives taken by it, specially the move to provide girl students with bicycles. Besides, the package benefit announced by the government for the 4th pillar of democracy also found mention in his speech.
The governor concluded his speech with the hope that the principle of 'Sav ka Saath , Sab ka Vikash' will always remain guiding principle for his government. For the second time after many years,  the governor delivered his speech quite undisturbed by the opposition.
