Five persons die in various incidents during puja days

Agartala, October 10,2019: The Durga Puja, biggest festival of the state, passed off by and large peacefully barring some stray incidents of road mishap and few unnatural deaths in separate places of the state during last four days. Altogether five persons including a student and two jawans of para-military forces were died during puja days and few more persons also sustained injuries in road mishaps.

Giving details of the incidents police said that on the evening of 'Maha Nabami' one pedestrian Bidhubhusan Deb (52) was dashed from his back by a speeding motor cycle moving by three youths at Bagbasha area under Dharmanagar police station. As result, pedestrian and three youths sustained injuries and all were shifted at hospital. But, on way to a Silchar based hospital pedestrian Bidhubhusan Deb, while three injured bike rider and his pillion riders are still in hospital for their injuries.

In a tragic incident, a student of Holy Cross school of Kumarghat was died on the day of 'Maha Asthami' at GB Hospital due to his critical internal injuries. The parents of deceased student Happy Debbarma of Suricherra under Kumarghat subdivision filed an FIR at Kumarghat police station and alleged that their son, who was an inmate of school hostel died due to atrocities and physical torture by hostel warden. Police said that after finding of autopsy report, they will take action as per the FIR.

On the day of 'Maha Saptami' one Subedhar and camp incharge of Sonacherra TSR camp under Ampinagar police station, Aamush Karthak (44) of TSR 5th battalion, has died off being struck by a powerful lightning  . As per the report Karthak, a Nepali TSR Subedhar from West Bengal taking a nap at his barrack , suddently a lightning  directly hit him.. During lightning incident two more villagers Joydep Reang and Shiranti Reang (39) also suffered injuries.

On the day of "Maha Nabami", one Assam Rifle jawan, who was on his holiday leave died during morning walk Dayarampara village under Takharjala police station. Some local villagers found the unconscious body of AR jawan Ramesh Debbarma (56) in a school ground. Later, he was shifted at local hospital, but doctor declared him brought dead. Police said that autopsy of deceased jawan has been completed and they suspected that Ramesh Debbarma died due to illness.

On the day of "Maha Dashami",  one middle aged person Nikhil Deb of Ganganagar area of Fatikroy police station of North district fall from his by-cycle due to sudden attack by his epilepsy disease. Nikhil Deb  (35) was moving towards a local market to complete the shopping for Dashami festival, but when he was moving over a wooden bridge, he suffered attacks due to epilepsy and fall from the bridge .Immediately, fire fighters rushed to the spot and shifted him at hospital, where doctor declared him brought dead.
