Biplab hops from Agartala to different towns to inaugurate ‘Durga Puja’ , enthuse people in the festive season

Agartala  October 07, 2019 : The usual opulence and ostentation seem to be missing but still the ongoing  'Durga Festival' in the state is not without its colour and joyous festivity, notwithstanding the all-pervasive economic slowdown. Adding to the light and colour the chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb moved all around the state to enthuse people and personally oversee the organization of the festival and hard work being put in by people associated with it.

On the opening or 'Saptami' day of the festival on last Saturday , the chief minister inaugurated a number of pandals in his constituency Banamalipur area and heartily spoke to worshippers, club members and 'puja' revelles . Biplab , as always, requested people to ensure a trouble free 'Durga Puja' and to let everything happen peacefully. Then he flew off to Udaipur , his home town, where also the chief minister Inaugurated a number of pandals along with minister for agriculture Pranjit Singha Roy and MLA Biplab Ghosh.

Besides, the chief minister made a sortie to northern town of Dharmanagar where he following the same routine of pandal hopping, accompanied by Biswabandhu Sen and 'Yuva Morcha' president Tinku Roy.Biplab encouraged all to ensure a peaceful and smooth celebration of the ‘Durga Puja’ in the north district besides trying to gather information on the general law and order and economic situation in the district. The chief minister’s consort Niti Deb also inaugurated a number of pandals of 'Durga Puja'.

Meanwhile, the four day' 'Durg Puja' festival is also being celebrated in the tribal dominated hilly interiors of the state with gaiety . From Lefung, Subal Sing to Padama Bill in Mohanpur and Khowai subdivisions and from troubled Takarjala to Ampi via Teliamura tribal devotees have organized 'Durga Puja' with great enthusiasm. But the non-payment of MGNREFA dues to people by callous officials and bank authority, specially in the semi-urban , hilly and rural areas have told upon the general joyous festivity associated with the festival. However, people have still come out in large numbers to partake of the festivity.
