Ban on NLFT, ATTF to continue for five more years

Agartala, June 11: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has extended ban on outlawed groups- National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) and All Tripura Tiger Force (ATTF) for five more years, according to an official notification.

On November, the MHA has constituted a tribunal to examine if ban on two outlawed should be continue or not. As part of process, the tribunal has visited the state and conducted hearings on the issue and declared ban on two banned two outfits-NLFT and ATTF should be continue for five more years.

Following the recommendation of the tribunal, the MHA has declared the ban on two outfits- NLFT and ATTF should be continued for five more years. It may be noted that insurgency has been largely contained in the state with no militancy related case is report during the past three years.
