An unusual visit of a MLA surprised residents of hilly villages

Agartala, November 8, 2018 : It was an unusual journey of a MLA along with the officials through the hilly terrains of Dhalai district to know the problems of the common people  which also surprised the residents of obscure villages.

After coming out of their initial inhibitions when people understood that the man standing before them is the local MLA Parimal Debbarma it was really a surprise to them. It got multiplied when they learnt that he did not come to want anything.

It was really a surprise to them when he said I came to have firsthand experience if all the government machineries like health care, education, drinking water and rations are functioning normally.

The residents of these obscure villages also responded spontaneously and apprised the MLA about their problems. The Multipurpose Worker of Tilak Para informed the MLA that Malaria virus has been found in the blood of 11 persons and treatment is going on. The villagers of Birendra Para appealed for brick soling of three and half KM road up to Biddya Mohon Para While residents of Srinibas Para requested for arranging pure drinking water.

MLA Parimal Debbarma heard the problems of the villagers with patience and assured that he will do his best to solve their problem. But the MLA went out of patients when Biswa Laxmi Mog told that she is living with a big tumor as there is money for treatment. MLA assured of bearing all the expenses of her treatment.

When the MLA  announced his decision to visit remote villages many other including the SDM J V Doati, Officer-in-charge of Ambassa Police station Himadri Sarkar and some of the MLA's party colleagues Laltu Saha, Amit Reang and Khagen Reang also voluntarily accompanied him.

They visited 9 habitation of Kathalbari, Gurudhan Para and Shikaribari village committee. These localities are Khegendra Roaja Para, Tilak Para, Birendra Para, Srinibas Para, Damkarai Para, Kathalbari, Mog Para, Chan Kumar Para and Rangacherra.

Residents of Khagendra Roaja Para where all the residents are Jhumia expressed happiness that digging of pillar for electrifying the village under Dindayal Upaddhya Yogona and money has been sanctioned for dwelling house for 19 persons. SDM Doati informed that house has been sanctioned for more 27 people and they will shortly get the money as the geo tracking has already been completed.

The problem of 270 families of Khagendra Roaja Para and Tilak Para is little different. They are getting ration but need to walk 25 km to collect the ration. They urged to make arrangement so that they can collect ration from their own locality.
